Reversible Cable Wrap Just in time for colder weather, here is my latest pattern published by Red Heart, the Reversible Cable Wrap.  This design was originally sketched out several years ago. Last year I dug out the sketch and figured out how to make it happen! It took a lot of trial and error, because I really wanted it to be knit from end to end, not from the triangle up or down. I'm not sure why this was so important, but it was and it made the cable work right as it runs along the long edge. There was math involved, people! I hope you enjoy knitting it.  As you can see, it makes quite an impact! (This pattern is called the Little Red Riding Hood Shawl on Allfreeknitting.com, where they are kind enough to feature it and say very nice things about it!)

Drop Stitch Dish Cloth This pattern is available as a free Ravelry download The Drop Stitch Garter Dishcloth is one of the first patterns I ever took the time to write down, and now it is available as a FREE Ravelry download! Years ago I was asked to teach the drop stitch technique and could find no quick and easy patterns to demonstrate it. Thus was born the Drop Stitch Garter Dishcloth; something we were all already knitting, written down in pattern form for ease of use. It’s a quick knit that is so fun to make you may find yourself with a kitchen-full. Use cotton yarn for a dishcloth, or substitute something soft and knit it longer to make a lovely scarf. Once you have the technique you can use it in as many ways as you can dream up!

Brickworks Scarf Available as a FREE Ravelry download. Something about the way this scarf knit up, especially with this fun red yarn, made me think of those ubiquitous molded plastic building blocks, and since it is being sent to the Red Scarf Project for college kids from foster homes, I think it’s an appropriate transition piece as these young adults enter a new stage of their lives. It’s a simple pattern with just enough going on to fight off boredom. Knit one for the Red Scarf Project, then knit one for someone special in your life who also needs a hug from home. Inspired by a stitch pattern from Barbara Walker.

Brickworks Festive Dishcloth

Brickworks Festive Dishcloth

Remember my Brickworks Scarf, the pattern I wrote as my contribution to the Red Scarf Project a couple of years ago? I like this pattern. A lot. So much so, in fact, that last year I turned it into the Brickworks Thin-finity Scarf and now, this year, well, I needed a dishcloth, so....

You'll need US size 8 needles and worsted weight cotton yarn. Great for using up leftovers!
