This class originated at the Charleston Museum as part of their historic outerwear exhibit in 2011. It is returning for a third year at the SC Knitting Guild's annual Knit Inn, and always fills up quickly.
From a pattern first published in Godey's Lady's Book in the 1800's, this shawl is a vintage design with a timeless quality.
You'll need approximately 1200 yards of worsted weight wool (I used Lion Brand Fisherman's Wool). Knit it in 3 colors or just one, on US size 10 circular needles, 40". You'll also need stitch markers, including at least one that is a locking type, and a row counter of some sort.
To register or find out more information, see the SC Knitting Guild website. Registration forms will be available Dec. 1.
