Shawls are so fun to knit and fun to wear, too. Eye-catching, cozy and versatile, a good shawl can be your favorite go-to accessory during the chilly months.
Come learn how to create 3 different shawls during our Shawl Sampler Class. We'll knit teeny versions of the Vintage Winter, Reversible Cable, and Easy Linen shawls so you can find a shape/style/technique that works for you. Pick one to knit in a size to fit you, or knit all of them. They also make lovely gifts!
When, Where, How Much: Monday, Oct. 28 from 2-4pm at Wild and Wooly, 1212 Chuck Dawley Blvd, Mt. Pleasant. This class is for advanced beginners--you should be proficient at the basics: cast on, knit, purl, bind off, and gauge. $45/person, ages 12 and up.
To knit the 3 sampler size shawls, we'll use worsted weight yarn in 3 colors (your choice) and needles in US sizes 7, 9, and 10 to achieve the gauges as follows:
Reversible Cable Wrap--US size 7 needles and worsted weight yarn, gauge is 16 stitches = 4 inches in garter stitch.
Vintage Winter Shawl--US Size 10 needles and worsted weight yarn (3 colors), gauge is 3.5 stitches = 1 inch in garter stitch.
Easy Linen Stitch Shawl--US Size 9 needles and worsted weight yarn (3 colors), gauge is 22 stitches = 4 inches in linen stitch.
Having said all that....if you bring worsted weight yarn and sizes 7, 9, and 10 needles, we can make the wee sample shawls and check those for your gauge.
